Small Groups

For get-togethers and celebrations.

For coffee dates and late-night Waffle House talks.

For family reunions and birthday parties.

For worship together and laughing in the lobby.

For special moments and small groups.

We were made for community.

Find your community.

Some groups meet on Sundays, some meet on weeknights, and others meet during the day.

Some groups are family-friendly and include kids, and some groups are adult-focused.

Some weeks your group will share food and fellowship, some weeks your group will gather for worship and discussion, and some weeks your group will take a break.

And our goal is that all of this flexibility and all of this variety will help you find a group that is a great fit for you.

We want to experience life together.

We want to mourn together.

And celebrate life together.

But always together.

Below you will find a list of all the small groups currently open.

Each listing will contain details about the group. These details will include:

  • General Location,

  • Day & Time,

  • Type of Group (family-friendly or adult-focused), and

  • Leader Bio.

About the kids…

If you want your kids to join you at a group (with other kids), sign up for a family-friendly group.

If you have kids but would prefer not to have them with you at small group (no judgement here!), you have two options:

  • Sign up for an adult-focused small group that meets on Sunday evenings and plan to drop your kids at Praise from 6:00pm to 7:30pm Sunday night during group or

  • Sign up for an adult-focused small group on a different night and arrange whatever childcare works best for your family.

Find your community.

We believe that God created us for community. It’s a vital part of Christian living—we become like those we’re around.

Here’s the plan:

  1. First, take some time to read about the different small group leaders and review the different group options.

  2. Next, register for a group that looks like a good fit for you (and your family).

  3. Then, look forward to hearing from your group leader for additional information and details.

  • Adult-Focused | W Springfield Wednesdays 6:30pm

We would love to foster a group that is hungry to know the Lord and that will support and encourage each other. Every age group has wisdom and unique perspectives that can help grow us together. We are excited to see what God will do!

We are a young married couple in our late 20s. We’ve been married for almost two years. Ever since the beginning, we have had a heart for serving, leading, and growing together in the faith with others.

  • Adult-Focused | NE Springfield Thursdays 3:00pm

Aging happens. And aging brings changes. Some changes are welcome. Others, not so much. If such changes are not challenging, they are at least different from what we expected. In our group we want to prayerfully and biblically explore how to age in ways that please God.

We have been married 53 years, and we have been children of God for even longer. In the past two years of pandemic, we have become more aware of the sense of loss that can develop with getting older. Traveling has at least paused. Our hobbies of photography and bird watching have been greatly reduced. We want to reframe our response to aging as a part of God’s design for our lives, and we would like to do that with other Christians.

  • Family-Friendly | SW Springfield Fridays 6:30pm

We believe passionately about living out our faith in the everyday mundane things of life. We would love to be a part of a community of believers that encourage and hold each other accountable by praying, sharing, caring, crying and laughing together.

We are both working professionals that love Jesus and have 2 children: Joshua (11) and Miriam (8). Emmanuel is a pediatrician while Tayo is an electrical engineering professor.

  • Adult-Focused | SW Springfield Fridays 6:00pm

I believe God will use this group for inner healing, soul care, and recovery with any kind of relationship in our lives. I want to help everyone focus on God, help them disciple people, and enjoy their life in Christ.

I am an air force chaplain candidate and have many intercultural experiences. He called me to Praise to serve all of you at this time. My ultimate goal is to go to the nations and make disciples to the end of the earth like Acts 1:8.

  • Adult-Focused | E Springfield Tuesdays 12:30pm

I hope to encourage a group of women in the courage and power of being spirit filled.

I am a grandmother of 5 granddaughters. I am retired but my husband is still working. I have 2 son's. We enjoy spending time together and with family.

  • Adult-Focused | N Springfield Mondays 6:00pm

We are excited to lead this group and look forward to what God is doing in small groups. The goal for our group is to love God and love people.

We have lived in Springfield for 21 years and attended Praise Assembly for 18 years. We have been married 29 years and have two kids, Kody and Kiana.

  • Adult-Focused | E Springfield Thursdays 6:30pm

This will be a group for women, single and married, to be able to just relax and share and encourage each other in a safe environment. No matter how much or how little you know about God, you are welcome here.

I am a mom, a cat lover, an accountant, and chocolate connoisseur. And I love ..love...love talking about God and His amazingness.

Join your Praise family and friends in a small group.

It may take you out of your comfort zone.

It may mean a few awkward moments.

It may bring smiles and laughter and joy.

But always together.
