The Promise of Christmas
This Week We’re Reading:
Throughout Scripture, God promised that He would send the Messiah to save His people. Throughout history, we see how God has continually been faithful to keep His promises. This week, we are reading Luke 1:26-56 together as a church family.
This Week We’re Asking:
As we read Luke 1:26-56 we see an interaction between the Angel Gabriel and Mary. In this conversation, Gabriel shares that Mary will be given a son. This son will change everything because He will be the savior of the world.
Why do you think we can trust the promises that God gives?
Share a time that someone made a promise to you and kept their promise.
What do you think it means when the Angel says that God’s Kingdom will last forever?
This Week We’re Doing:
God sent Gabriel to share with Mary that she will give birth to the Savior of the world. Mary could have been scared and nervous, but she was also amazed that God would use her to fulfill this incredible promise to the world. She knew the world needed someone to save them and God had promised a Savior. After she had thought about what this meant, she took time to glorify God for fulfilling His incredible promise!
Heres the challenge!
Everyday, we have a reason to celebrate and glorify God. Even on a bad day, we can thank God for His amazing love for us and the blessings that He has placed in our lives. This week, take a few moments before a meal to share one reason that you are thankful for God.
This Week We’re Memorizing:
“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”
