This Week We’re Asking:

This week we are talking about JOY!!

  1. As a family spend time talking together about times that you feel the most joyful.

  2. What as a family can you do to bring joy to one another?

  3. Why is it important to have joy in your life?

“We’re often taught to be careful of the difference between joy and happiness. Happiness, it is said, is an emotion that depends upon what “happens.” Joy by contrast, is supposed to be enduring, stemming deep from within our soul and which is not affected by the circumstances surrounding us. . . .
I don’t think God had any such hair-splitting in mind. Scripture uses the terms interchangeably along with words like delight, gladness, blessed. There is no scale of relative spiritual values applied to any of these. Happiness is not relegated to fleshly-minded sinners nor joy to heaven-bound saints.”

This Week We’re Doing:

Joy and happiness can’t be faked. It’s not something that you can put-on. It comes from a true and deep relationship with Christ. When we are plugged into the vine of life, joy is a result. As a family, it is important to not only find joy in each other, but to plug into the vine on Christ and grow in joy together. This week, be intentional about spending time together as a family in worship and prayer. Pray over your family that God will fill your home with joy this week!

Preparing for Sunday:

Disappointment is a real thing. When expectations fall short of reality, it causes chaos in our lives and hearts. This week, we are going to talk about how we can respond when we face disappointment in our life.
