Now, skip over to Mark 11:11 and Mark 11:15-17, Jesus is clearly angry enough to flip tables, but don’t forget back in verse 11, it becomes clear that Jesus isn’t quick to anger. He is very strategic in his approach to using his anger to bring justice and healing.

This Week We’re Asking:

Anger is sometimes a really hard thing in life. Sometimes you might have a really bad day and everything that could go wrong does and those feelings just start building and building and eventually they may come out in anger. Today as a family begin to sit around and ask these questions and have a conversation about anger:

  • What makes you angry?

  • How do you normally respond when you are angry?

  • When you start to feel angry about something, what should your response be?

  • When you start to get angry at something is it because of that thing that happened, or is there normally something else going on?

  • How can you still show love and kindness to others in the midst of feeling anger?

This Week We’re Doing:

What comes to your mind when you hear the word "Anger"? Take time to discuss things that anger makes you do. Instead of just pressing down those emotions - what are some ways you can work through them? What are way you can be "surgical" and "strategic" in regards to anger?

This Week We’re Memorizing:

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

Proverbs 4:23

Preparing for Sunday:

On Sunday, we will be talking about “Anxiety.” I don’t know if that makes you feel anxious or not. It does me. Maybe because I will be talking about it.

As we have working through the different emotions, anxiety sticks out like a sore thumb. It is different than love, anger, disappointment or sorrow. It is unique. It also is uniquely able to hide itself.

What are you feeling anxious about right now? Would you take some time this week to deliberately hand it over to the LORD In prayer?

Maybe the LORD can do a work in you even BEFORE you come to church!
