Anxiety
This Week We’re Reading:
This week, we are reading Matthew 6:19-34. This passage is from Jesus' most famous sermon (that one on the mountain). Pay special attention to how closely 'worry' is connected to 'the love of money' and how deeply knowing God as our Heavenly Father should impact what we care about.
This Week We’re Asking:
There are so many things that can make us anxious in life. It could be bills, friends, job, homework, and so many other things. Anxiety isn't just found in adults, our kids are faced against some major things these days that can cause them to have anxious thoughts and actions. Here are a few questions to discuss as a family:
When do you start feeling the most anxious?
Is there something that may trigger thoughts of anxiety in your day?
When you start to feel anxious, what is something you can do?
How does God help us when we have those feelings of anxiety?
This Week We’re Doing:
What comes to your mind when you say the word anxiety? Talk through some of those things.
Take time to read - Psalm 139:17-18
Talk through how knowing God's thoughts towards us can help you with anxiety.
Write out some Scriptures to help you in whatever area of your life causes you anxiety.
This Week We’re Memorizing:
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
Proverbs 4:23
Preparing for Sunday:
This Sunday is Mother's Day! So, um, make sure to do something about that. Buy some flowers, send a card, buy her a new car. Do SOMETHING!
AND, we are talking about "Love" on Sunday. That makes sense, right? Mother's Day ... Love...
In preparation, would you take some time to read the love chapter this week? 1 Corinthians 13. And may the LORD awaken a new love in your heart!
