This Week We’re Reading:

This week we are reading John 3:1-21 and looking at the story of Nicodemus. When we read the Bible Story of Nicodemus we learn that God wants ALL people to be saved. Not just some people, not just good people or special people - ALL people.

When we look at Romans 3:23, we learn that "For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard." We all have sinned and fallen short. But that didn't stop God from making a way for us to be saved. Nicodemus went to Jesus and asked him a question about what it would take to receive salvation. Jesus told Nicodemus that you must be born again. Jesus explained that God can give NEW life and when we receive salvation from God, we are given a brand new spiritual life. All of our sins are forgiven and we are born again!

This Week We’re Asking:

Here are a few questions this week to encourage discussion as we look at the story of Nicodemus:

  • How do you think Nicodemus felt when he heard that Jesus came to save everyone?

  • Have you accepted Jesus as your Savior and best friend? If so take some time to share your story.

  • Who is someone God may lay on your heart this week to pray for and share Jesus with?

This Week We’re Doing:

Throughout the Just series, we will be focusing on how to be engaged in our community. We will have resources and opportunities to do just that, but consider this a warm-up. Talk with your family about areas of the community that need us to be involved. Make a list of all the ways you can have an impact on those around you that might be struggling.

Here are some key areas you can be on the lookout for to serve:

  • Local food banks

  • Needs in local stores

  • Connecting with a local homeless shelter

  • Someone elderly who needs help in their yard or home

  • Thinking of ways to show love and kindness to your neighbors

After you decide - reach out and add it to your calendar!

Know - no matter the size - you taking the time to show kindness will be SIGNIFICANT and a picture of CHRIST'S LOVE!

This Week We’re Memorizing:

John 15:12
This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.

Mark 12:30-31
And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”
