This Week We’re Asking:

Pastor Alan shared that one in every 30 verses in the New Testament refer to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Even though it is incredibly evident throughout the New Testament, sometimes it seems like we tend to neglect talking about it in our daily lives. Here are some questions to ask your family that will help us put this truth in the forefront of our hearts and minds.

  1. What do you think it mean when the Bible says “Jesus is the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come - the Almighty One” in the book of Revelation?

  2. How do you think it changes the way we live when we know that Jesus is coming back?

  3. Why do you think we can trust God’s promise that Jesus will return again?

This Week We’re Watching:

Did you know the word “Rapture” is never mentioned in scripture? So, why do I believe in it? Pastor Alan shares the scriptural basis for the hope God gave us as believers. Don’t let a book you read or a movie you watched cause you to be afraid!

This Week We’re Doing:

As we learned about the return of Jesus Christ this week, we talked about how this truth should excite us to live enthusiatically for God. Knowing that Jesus is going to return shouldn’t be filled with fear, rather it should bring hope and expectation!

In this week’s challenge, take time each night to read and memorize the whole verse together as a family. Each night as you read this verse, ask your children or family members how they worked enthusiastically for the Lord today. As you talk about this question with your family, share an example of how you worked enthusiastically for the Lord in your day as well. This will be a great opportunity for you to model to your kids and family what your walk with Christ looks like in your daily life.

1 Corinthians 15:58 So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.
