A Walk in the Park

Northeast Community Park is coming alive! The background hum of machinery could be heard in the park this week as concrete was being poured for the pickleball, basketball, and sand volleyball courts, as well as additional sidewalks. Soon the equipment will be installed for each court, and early next month they should be ready for use. WHAT?

Do you remember when this was just a field?

Phase 2 is well underway, folks. The grass is growing, flowers are blooming, and trees are beginning to dot the landscape. Several of the planned benches have been installed for those who need a breather along the way – or those who just want to sit and enjoy the park.

Special thanks to the individuals and companies who have partnered with us with monetary or in-kind donations to help make the park a reality:

Anonymous Donor ($10,000 to purchase and plant trees)
Brookline Arena Compost (compost for plantings)
Dap Backhoe and Hauling (hauling services)
Kerburg Roofing (gutters and downspouts for rainwater collection for the community garden)
Missouri Department of Conservation (grant for concrete walking paths)

Join us for ‘A Walk in the Park’ blog posts in the weeks to come and stay up-to-date on upcoming progress and activities at Northeast Community Park!
