A Walk in the Park (#9)

September 8, 2024, is set to be an exciting milestone for Northeast Community Park. On this day, years of prayer and hard work will culminate in the long-awaited public grand opening of the park.

Although the park is already open and welcoming visitors, excitement is building as more and more people discover it. Phase 1 brought the successful completion of the pavilion and the concrete walking paths, and these were utilized beautifully during the Christmas Stroll in the Park last December. Those of us who participated in that event loved the experience and are eagerly looking forward to more community gatherings in the park.

With Phase 2 almost done, we are excited to see the pickleball and basketball courts nearing completion. Just a few finishing touches still need to be put in place and they will be ready for use. The volleyball pit is filled with sand and waiting for equipment to be added. In the next couple of weeks, the last bit of grading for this phase should be wrapped up.

Volunteers are needed to help with watering and other light tasks as we plan for the public opening event. Even an hour of your week can make an impact. If you are interested in helping, please contact the church office. Additionally, Joe Sardo said another volunteer Serve Day is in the works and will be announced soon. I don’t know about you, but I’ll be watching for that date. I plan to join the team and do my part to make our park a thriving community space. Will you join me?
