Today We’re Reading:

This week we are focusing on the last week of Jesus’ life. Every day we will read a portion of scripture from that last week.

John 20:1-23

Today We’re Asking:

He’s not here!! As Mary Magdalene went to the tomb, she found that Jesus WAS NOT there! Jesus had risen from the dead! This truth is how we have hope in Jesus! He did what he said! He has victory over death. Jesus IS alive and we can live with him forever!

  1. How do you think the disciples felt when they found out Jesus was alive?

  2. Why was it important that Jesus came back to life?

  3. How does Jesus make a difference in our lives?

  4. What are some ways that you can tell Jesus thank you for what he has done?

Today We’re Doing:

Jesus is alive!!

Celebrate Jesus’ resurrection by watching the sunrise together:

  • Choose a spot where you and your family can see the sun rising together.

  • Decide what time you want everyone together and ready to go. First light is 30 minutes prior to sunrise which is at 6:53am Easter morning this year. If you want to begin while it is still dark, plan for 45 minutes prior to sunrise.

  • If you begin while it is still dark, spend a few minutes discussing the Bible readings and activities of the last few days. Find out which experiences impacted each person and why.

  • Read John 20:1-23.

  • Enjoy the sunrise together and discuss how it must have felt to see the empty tomb and Jesus raised back to life!

  • Talk about how Jesus resurrection makes a difference in your lives.

  • Pray together, thanking the Lord not only for His death and sacrifice, but for His resurrection which gives us new life.

  • Take a quick nap, grab some breakfast, and join us for church at 9am or 11am to celebrate His resurrection together!

This Week We’re Memorizing:

Romans 6:7-8

For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him.
