Holy Week Day 7
We’re walking with Jesus through His last week.
Today We’re Reading:
This week we are focusing on the last week of Jesus’ life. Every day we will read a portion of scripture from that last week.
During that last week, when Jesus sat down to the Last Supper with His disciples, it is likely that Jesus and the disciples recited the Hallel Psalms, or Psalms 113 thru 118. So, we are also including one of the Hallel Psalms with the reading for each day to help us share in Jesus’ experience that final week.

Today We’re Asking:
Waiting is difficult. I have a hard time waiting especially if I am waiting for something really big. Jesus had died on the cross and was placed in the tomb. I wonder if Jesus followers really understood how important this wait really was.
Have you ever missed a friend or family member that was gone for a long time? How did you feel when you saw them again?
How do you think his friends felt as they had to put him in the tomb?
Do you think Jesus’ friends believed Him when He said he would come back to life?
Today We’re Doing:
Jesus told His disciples, “Destroy this Temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” But they had to wait to see it happen.
Take some time to “wait” together as a family:
Begin by discussing how it must have felt for the disciples between Jesus death and resurrection.
Take time to share some of the sins Jesus carried to the cross for each of you.
Set a timer and wait together in stillness and silence. Only you know what length of waiting will make an impact on your family. For your family, 5 minutes might be a stretch. For others, you may be able to press in to 15 or 30 minutes of silence. Prayerfully consider how long the Lord would have you wait together.
Pray together, thanking Jesus for taking your sins to the cross and asking that He would continue to draw you closer to His side.
This Week We’re Memorizing:
For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him.
Looking Ahead:
Tomorrow, make plans to get up before the sunrise to read about Jesus resurrection and celebrate the sunrise together!
Note: Sunrise is at 6:53am on Easter morning. “First light” begins 30 minutes prior to sunrise.
