The Baby of Christmas

This Week We’re Reading:

Throughout Scripture, God promised that He would send the Messiah to save His people. Throughout history, we see how God has continually been faithful to keep His promises. This week, we are reading Luke 2:1-20 together as a church family.

This Week We’re Asking:

Every Christmas, we read this passage and some times we tend to read it just out of tradition without really thinking about how important this moment is for the whole world. This is the moment that the our Savior was brought to this world!

  1. Why do you think we needed a savior?

  2. Why do you think the angels joined together and praised God when Jesus was born?

  3. What can you do this week to show Jesus that you are thankful for Him coming to the world to save us?

This Week We’re Doing:

Luke 2:18-19 “All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished, but Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often.”

In this passage, we see that Mary made sure to remember what God had done and think about them often. We know it is incredibly important that we remember what God has done in our lives and we glorify Him for who he is.

Heres the challenge!

This week, our challenge is to memorize our memory verse for this series! As a family, take some time to memorize Romans 15:13. As you read through the passage, make motions for each phrase and then put it all together! We know that keeping God’s Word in our hearts is so important so we can turn to Him often throughout our lives.

This Week We’re Memorizing:

“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”
