This Week We’re Reading:

This week, we are reading 2 Peter 1:3-4 together as a church family. As we read this passage we see that God everything we need to live our lives for Him.

Read Now

“ Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”

— John 6:35

This Week We’re Asking:

Each one of us are incredibly needy. In our lives, we need food, water, clothes, a place that is warm… and that doesn’t even include our need for joy, love, hope, acceptance and so much more. Here are some questions to help lead the conversation of why Jesus is the only one who can satisfy each of our needs.

  1. What do you think it means that Jesus is our Source?

  2. Do you think we ever bother Jesus by coming to Him with our needs?

  3. How do you think you can bring your needs to Jesus?

“Jesus replied, “Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”

— John 4:13–14

This Week We’re Doing:

As we begin to understand that Jesus is our source, it changes everything about us. We no longer have to search for satisfaction in the things of this world like, a job, a boyfriend or girlfriend, money, or a big dream. Instead, Jesus is calling us to come to him and as we turn to him, he will satisfy our deepest desires.

Heres the challenge!

This week, read Matthew 11:28-29 together as a family. It is our memory verse for this series, but before you begin to memorize it as a family, take a few moments to walk through each line of this passage. Talk with your kids about how Jesus calls us to join with him and allow him to carry our burdens. Notice that not once does Jesus call us to carry a load by ourselves, rather he promises to be with us each step of the way.

This Week We’re Memorizing:

Matthew 11:28-29

Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.

Coming up Next Week:

Next Sunday we will be talking about our value, “Jesus is our Summit.” As you look forward to this Sunday, ask God to open your heart as you strive to draw closer to Him.
