Jesus is the Summit Devo Kit

what is my goal.jpg

This Week We’re Reading:

This week, we are reading Philippians 3:7-11 together as a church family. Through this passage, we see the longing to fix our eyes on Jesus and truly know Him.

Read Now

“Oh, that we might know the Lord! Let us press on to know him. He will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn or the coming of rains in early spring.”

— Hosea 6:3

This Week We’re Asking:

In order to accomplish a goal, you must know what you are aiming for. In our lives we know that we cannot accomplish righteousness alone, but when we place our faith and life in Jesus, He works in our lives. We want to know Jesus and pursue a deeper relationship with Him.

  1. What do you think it means that Jesus is our Summit?

  2. Share one thing in your life that distracts you from Jesus.

  3. What are some things you can do in your life to know Jesus more this week?

“And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”

— Hebrews 11:6

This Week We’re Doing:

We want to know Jesus, to love Jesus, and to press deeper in our relationship with Him. The enemy throws distractions and stumbling blocks in our way daily, but we have the opportunity to turn our focus and pursuit away from those things and toward Jesus.

Heres the challenge!

This week there will be plenty of opportunities for the enemy to bring distractions in our lives. It could be something going on at school, a conflict in a relationship we have, things going on in our country, or countless other distractions. In order to know Christ more, it is essential to spend time with Him. Removing distractions, and wholeheartedly focusing on Christ. In your family, take one night this week (or even an hour) to put away all phones, turn off the tv or electronics, and spend time learning about, talking about, and worshiping Jesus together. We believe that even this short time will be a moment in your family that will have a lasting impact.

This Week We’re Memorizing:

Matthew 11:28-29

Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.

Coming up Next Week:

Next Sunday we will be talking about our value, “Change is Best Inside-Out.” As you look forward to this Sunday, ask God to shape your life and allow Him to move out of the overflow of what He is doing in you.
