Maturity is Movement Devo Kit
This Week We’re Reading:
This week, we are reading Ephesians 4:11-15 together as a church family. In this passage, Paul shares an explanation of what it means to be mature in our faith.
This Week We’re Asking:
Sometimes when we think of the word maturity, the picture pops up in our minds of a wise person who is sitting back in their seats and staunch in their thoughts and beliefs. As we look to the Bible for the definition of maturity in our faith, we see something a little different! Here are a few questions to help start a conversation about maturity in our faith.
What do you think the word “mature” means?
What do you think it looks like to have a mature faith?
How do you think we can grow and become more mature in our faith?
“ When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.”
— Luke 12:48
This Week We’re Doing:
As we look to the Bible, we find that maturity is a byproduct of growing deeper in our relationship with Christ. Maturity is a fruit that comes when we are connected to the true vine. Even though it comes through Christ, we find that there is never a point in which we can say: “I have accomplished complete maturity in my faith.” Actually, maturity in our faith is something that has to be continually on the move!
As we strive to be more mature in our faith, here are a few things we can do to ensure we are pressing closer to Christ and growing deeper in maturity.
Store up the treasure in your heart. Care deeply for your personal relationship with Christ. Spend time with Him and grow in knowledge of Him each day.
Love truly. Love the people that God has placed in your life. Look for ways to serve and care for the people closest to you.
Pray earnestly. Pray for God’s grace to shine bright around you. Pray with a sincere heart and genuine faith as you speak to God.
Work hard. As God gives opportunity, follow the Holy Spirit’s guidance and lean completely on His strength. Watch as He uses you in amazing ways as you are faithful to following his leadership.
This Week We’re Memorizing:
